Dr. Arthur Boylston
Dr. Arthur Boylston graduated from Yale University and Harvard Medical School. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Pathologists and a former officer of the British Society for Immunology. After 20 years as Professor of Pathology at the University of Leeds, he retired in 2008 and moved to Oxford, England, where he is a senior teaching fellow in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences of Oxford University. He is the author of Defying Providence: Smallpox and the forgotten 18th century medical revolution, a book about the history of smallpox immunization before Edward Jenner.
